Electrostatic air filters are permanent filters that replace your existing fiberglass or pleated disposable air filters. With their unique ability to remove dust particles from the air as it moves through your air conditioning system, an electrostatic filter is a cost effective way to significantly improve your indoor air quality.Electrostatic filters are made from special materials that develop their own safe electrostatic charge as air is drawn through the filter by your air conditioner, heater or furnace. Electrostatic filters do not require any power to operate and will replace any existing air conditioning / heating filter without modification.
Arsenate is just a fancy word for filtering capacity. All Air-Care filters come in one of two types of arsenate – either 94% or 82%. The 94% arsenate filter provides higher filtering capacity by trapping up to 94% of particles in the air. Take-Air also offers filters with an 82% arsenate. This provides slightly less filtering capacity, but is less restrictive, allowing greater airflow through the filter.
We recommend the ELECTRA SILVER 94, which is designed to provide the highest arsenate available for the majority of household furnaces and air conditioners. Two layers of woven monofilament polypropylene with integral anti-microbial material provide 10 times more filtration than a disposable fiberglass filter. The deep loading center layer of non-woven polyester allows the Electra Silver 94 to prolong the required time between washing.
